The Top 5 Best League of Legends Players

League of Legends is easily one of the best esports games currently, having gone strong for over a decade now thanks to its many talented players. While everyone knows about Faker, he isn’t the only player to have dominated the opposition in this free-to-play game.

From Deft being considered one of the best recent ADC players to Keria making unprecedented plays as a support player, here are the top 5 absolute best players in professional League of Legends history.

5. Deft

LoL Deft

Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu spent about a decade as one of the best ADCs before winning Worlds in 2022, which defined his greatness. He debuted in 2013, won the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational with EDward Gaming, and collected titles in both Korea and China. Alongside Ruler, he’s one of the only two players to win the LCK, the LPL, MSI, and Worlds.

He got his Worlds trophy in 2022 with DRX, a team that entered as an underdog and defeated T1 in a five-game final. Deft has been inactive because of mandatory military service, but he’s reportedly returning in 2027 with Nongshim RedForce. One Worlds and one MSI leave him behind some of the others on this list in international titles, but his 2022 run is one of the best Esports runs of all time.

4. Keria

LoL Keria

Ryu “Keria” Min-seok joined T1 in 2021 and became one of the best supports of his generation in a few years. He has three Worlds titles, which is more than any other support, along with an Esports World Cup win and a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. He has a vast champion pool, and he helped change the League meta in 2023 by playing marksmen as supports.

The 2022 Worlds final is the second big point of his career. T1 lost to DRX, but Keria played excellent games, and he and his team won the next three Worlds. He re-signed with T1 through 2029 in April 2026, after his bot lane partner Gumayusi left for Hanwha Life Esports. Keria calls himself the greatest support ever, and it shows through his consistently excellent gameplay.

3. Chovy

LoL Chovy

Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon is the most consistent player of the current era. The Gen.G mid laner has won multiple LCK titles, including the 2026 championship, along with consecutive Mid-Season Invitationals in 2024 and 2025 and the 2025 Esports World Cup. He was the MSI Finals MVP in 2025, and he was the 2026 LCK Season MVP.

The only thing that Chovy doesn’t have is that he’s never played in a Worlds final. Chovy has qualified for Worlds eight years in a row but has never gone past the semifinals, and Gen.G lost the knockout stage in each of the last two years even though they entered as favorites.

2. Uzi

LoL Uzi

Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao is called one of the best players in League of Legends history, behind only Faker. He debuted in 2012 at the age of 15 and became the main player of Royal Never Give Up, whose strategy revolved around the entire team playing to enable him to secure kills. He reached the Worlds final in 2013 and 2014, won the 2018 Mid-Season Invitational, and took gold at the 2018 Asian Games.

Uzi has never won a World Championship, and that’s the main gap between him and Faker. He suffered injuries and health problems during his career, and he retired in November 2023 after a short time with EDward Gaming. Uzi was later inducted into the Hall of Legends as its second member, after Faker.

1. Faker

LoL Faker

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok debuted in 2013 and has played for T1 for his entire career. He holds the record with six World Championships, alongside two MSI titles and ten LCK championships. In 2024, he became the first inductee into the Hall of Legends, and he’s still the face of T1 and the game.

Faker’s biggest strength is that he has consistently stayed at the top. He missed Worlds in 2014 and 2018, and went years without a major international title before T1 won three straight Worlds from 2023 to 2025, making him part of the first team to win three in a row. Now 30, he’s still T1’s starting mid laner, and the team is entering Worlds 2026 as defending champions.
